Program
The Specialization in Chemistry and Environmental Management seeks to satisfy the need for professionals trained in the identification and solution of specific environmental problems and in the creation of an alliance between academia and industry. To train experts in the use of advanced analytical methodologies to evaluate, monitor, and ensure the quality of environmental resources such as water, air, and soil within the current regulatory framework in Colombia.

Classes are held every weekend according to the following schedule: Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Occasionally, it becomes necessary to work additional hours on Saturday afternoons.

The university has a mechanism through which a student’s financial obligations can be partially or totally covered by a company or entity that wishes to support the student.
Also, various forms of payment have been arranged so that students can combine the available forms of payment according to their particular conditions. On the page “Start registration the process, you will find the available options.
Additionally, to facilitate access to postgraduate programs, the UIS has signed various agreements with entities specialized in educational credit. These agreements seek facilities and better credit conditions for UIS students.
Students with a voting certificate from Colombia’s last popular election process may request a 10% discount on tuition fees.
REGISTRATION
Requirements
For the application process, candidates must complete and submit the application form and CV to the email address espquiam@uis.edu.co in PDF format, along with the following required documents:

A copy of the undergraduate degree diploma and graduation certificate required by the program, issued by a recognized higher education institution in Colombia. If the candidate holds a degree from a foreign university, it must be properly apostilled and translated into Spanish if it is in a foreign language. The degrees must be validated by the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Colombia.

A photocopy of the identity document.

A recent digital passport-sized photo with a white background.

A certificate of grades obtained during the undergraduate program, including the arithmetic average,
issued by the Admissions and Academic Registration Office. Graduates of the Universidad Industrial de Santander do not need to provide this document.
A payment receipt issued by the program coordinator for the current application fee. This will be sent to the applicant once the minimum number of students (12) required to start the new cohort has been reached.
Certification or proof of current enrollment in the General System of Social Health Security, either in the contributory regime (EPS), subsidized regime (ARS), or special regimes.
A certificate of a medical and dental exam, as well as an opening of a comprehensive bio-psycho-social medical history, issued by the Bienestar Universitario (University Welfare Medical Service of UIS). This will be processed once the student is admitted to the program.
