ABOUT THE

Program

This program is a medical-surgical postgraduate degree that trains specialists capable of addressing mental health from contemporary perspectives, integrating research at all stages. It begins with the study of psychopathology, clinical interviewing, and the foundations of therapeutics; continues with the comprehensive care of vulnerable populations and pharmacological strengthening; and culminates in the management of services, special populations, and alternative models of intervention within the current regulatory framework.

The University has a mechanism through which a student’s financial obligations may be partially or fully covered by a company or institution that wishes to support the student.

Additionally, to facilitate access to graduate programs, UIS has signed several agreements with institutions specializing in educational loans. These agreements aim to provide improved financing conditions and greater accessibility for UIS students.

Students who present a certificate of participation in the most recent public election in Colombia may apply for a 10% discount on tuition fees.

REGISTRATION

Requirements

The documentation must be submitted digitally via email to dpsame@uis.edu.co in PDF format.

Note: By clicking on the “Registration” button, you will find the forms required to complete the documentation listed below.

  1. UIS Registration Form duly completed and signed.

  2. Curriculum vitae in the UIS institutional format, including attached certificates and copies of supporting documents verifying the information provided.

  3. Copy of a valid identification document recognized in Colombia, or a valid passport for international applicants.

  4. Recent ID-style photograph, preferably in digital format, white background, 3×4 cm.

 

  1. Copy of the undergraduate diploma or degree certificate required by the program, issued by a higher education institution officially recognized in Colombia.

Note 1: If the applicant holds a degree from a foreign university, it must be duly apostilled and translated into Spanish if issued in a foreign language. Degrees must also be officially validated by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia.

  1. Official transcript of grades obtained during the undergraduate medical program, including the cumulative GPA and information regarding the internship year.

Note 2: For UIS undergraduate alumni, submission of this document is not required.

Note 3: If this document is issued in a language other than Spanish, it must be duly translated into Spanish.

  1. Certification of foreign language proficiency at a level equivalent to or higher than A1, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), demonstrated through a standardized test administered or recognized by the UIS Language Institute.

  2. Proof of payment issued by the UIS Treasury for the current registration fee, or a deposit receipt for payment made to the bank account authorized by UIS.
