The Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering at the Industrial University of Santander prepares highly qualified professionals, capable of transforming technological challenges into innovative opportunities through advanced knowledge of materials and their associated processes. The graduate of the  Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering, will be a person with a solid integral training, able to generate, adapt and apply new knowledge that enrich the scientific advancement in the area of Materials Engineering, coming from his professional performance as a teacher and researcher. The graduate will be distinguished by its competences in production, characterization, selection and inspection of materials, control of chemical and physical properties and fault analysis.

The university has a mechanism through which the financial obligations of a student can be partially or totally covered by a company or entity that wishes to support the student.

Also, various forms of payment have been arranged so that students can combine the available forms of payment according to their particular conditions. On the page “Start registration process” you will find the available options.

Additionally, to facilitate access to postgraduate programs, the UIS has signed various agreements with entities specialized in educational credit. These agreements seek facilities and better credit conditions for UIS students.

Students who have the voting certificate from the last popular election process in Colombia may request a 10% discount on tuition fees.

Requirements

The documentation must be submitted in digital format (PDF) to the email address posgrados.materiales@uis.edu.co

Note: By clicking on the “Access Registration” button, available in the following banner, you will find the necessary forms to complete the documentation listed below.

Required Documentation:

  • UIS application form, properly completed and signed.

  • Curriculum vitae in the UIS institutional format, including certificates and copies of documents supporting the information provided.

  • Copy of a valid identity document in Colombia, or a valid passport if you are a foreigner.

  • Recent passport-sized photo with a white background, 3×4 size, preferably in digital format.

  • Copy of the diploma and degree certificate for the required undergraduate program, issued by a recognized higher education institution in Colombia.

Note 1: If the degree was awarded by a foreign institution, it must be apostilled, translated into Spanish (if applicable), and validated by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia.

  • Undergraduate grade transcript for the required program, including the weighted average.

Note 2: Graduates of the UIS undergraduate program do not need to submit this document.

  • Payment receipt for the application fee.

  • Certificate of reading comprehension and written production in Spanish, issued by the UIS Language School (only if required by the program).

Note 3: The cost of this certification or test is not included in the application fee for the program.

  • Certification proving a foreign language proficiency level of at least A1 (according to the CEFR for languages), duly validated by the UIS Language Institute.

Note 4: This certification will not be required for candidates who:

  • Are native speakers of a foreign language, or

  • Have obtained their university degree in a foreign language, as indicated in the submitted documents.

Two (2) confidential academic reference letters, sent directly by the person providing the recommendation, to the graduate program coordinator (posgrados.materiales@uis.edu.co). They must use the form established by the UIS.

A letter of endorsement issued by a research group or center at the UIS, or by a scientific institution with an active agreement. This letter must be signed by the group leader and formally introduce the candidate to the program.
