Master's Degree in Philosophy

ABOUT THE

Program

The Master in Philosophy understands that the nature of philosophy, as an autonomous field of knowledge and knowledge, is defined according to its own philosophical que-doing.  Consequently, thinking today about the nature of philosophy as knowledge and as a practice forces us to look at the past in which this knowledge arose, as well as the history that belongs to it, but also to the current problems that afflict contemporary societies, especially Latin American ones. Hence, the program adopts an approach that incorporates both reflection on the history of philosophy and discussion on philosophical research problems relevant to our contemporary life, especially within the framework of its three lines of deepening: Political Philosophy and Law, Philosophy and Literature and Philosophy and Technoscience.

Our program strives to revive the above in all its activities, while opening philosophical reflection to the necessary dialogue with other areas of knowledge, dialogue without which the same philosophical reflection is not possible.

Qualified registration: Resolution of the Ministry of National Education (MEN) No. 022027 dated November 19, 2024, with a validity of 7 years.

The university has a mechanism through which a student’s financial obligations can be partially or totally covered by a company or entity that wishes to support the student.

Also, various forms of payment have been arranged so that students can combine the available forms of payment according to their particular conditions. On the page “Start the registration process”,  you will find the available options.

Additionally, to facilitate access to postgraduate programs, the UIS has signed various agreements with entities specialized in educational credit. These agreements seek facilities and better credit conditions for UIS students.
